Early Life of Maria Shriver
Shriver was born on November 6, 1955, in Texas, Illinois. She is the second child of the politician Sargent Shriver and activist Eunice Kennedy Shriver. Her mother, Eunice Kennedy Shriver, was a sister of John F. Robert and Ted Kennedy. Therefore she is popularly known as the niece of the late U.S. President John F. Kennedy, U.S. Attorney General and U.S. Senator Robert F. Kennedy, U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy, and six other prominent siblings. Maria Shriver is a Roman Catholic and is of mostly Irish and German descent. Shriver is related to tennis player Pam Shriver as their fourth cousin.
Shriver did her middle school while she was living in Paris, France. For a very brief period, Shriver’s family temporarily relocated to Chicago, Illinois in the summer of 1968.
