Her parents separated she was three months old and moved to Australia with her mother. They first settled in Eden in south Whales and then moved around quite a bit after settling in Mornington Peninsula at the age of 10. She is 6 feet 8 inches tall and reached the height of 6 feet at the age of 10. Her school peers are usually bullied in school and hence her mother suggested she play basketball to make some friends. In 2009, she has played in the Under-20 Australian National Championships. She plays the center position in basketball. Cambage played her junior basketball in WNBL with the Dandenong Rangers team for the season of 2007– 2008. She accepted a scholarship in 2007 to the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) and played for them for the remainder of the season and the next one. In August 2020, she came back to the WNBL, signing with the Southside Flyers for the 2020–21 season.
In 2009, Cambage was a member of the Australian junior women’s national team and won a gold medal at the Oceania World Qualification series They also won a silver medal at the William Jones Cup in Taiwan. The following year, she was a part of the Australian junior women’s team that played at the World Championships in Thailand. She competed at the World Championships in the Czech Republic as a member of the senior women’s national team in 2010. She was selected to the 2012 Australian women’s national basketball team. Cambage and the Opals acquired a bronze medal in London Olympics held in 2012. They won with an 83–74 win over Russia. She holds the WNBA single-game scoring record and is a three-time All-Star
