Even her uncle, Jason Croker was a professional rugby league player who also served his play for the Canberra Raiders. Her brother Morgan Boyle and her cousin Lachlan Croker play for the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles. Boyle played rugby league with boys until the age of 12. She began playing rugby football as the only form of rugby available was rugby union when she was in school. She played for the Brumbies schoolgirls team when she was in high school. Boyle moved from her native Canberra to the Gold Coast when Bond University Rugby Club offered her a playing position in the University rugby sevens league.

Millie Boyle made her debut in the year 2016 playing for the Australian Capital Territory in the National Women’s Rugby Championship. She was called up to the Australia women’s national rugby union team, known as the Wallaroos, for the 2017 Women’s Rugby World Cup in Ireland when she was 19 years old. She also played for the Queensland Reds Super Rugby team in the year 2019. Millie returned to rugby league, joining the Burleigh Bears in the South East Queensland women’s division in the same year. In May 2019, she represented South East Queensland at the NRL Women’s National Championships. In June 2019, she made her debut for New South Wales in their 14–4 win over Queensland. Millie signed with the Brisbane Broncos NRL Women’s Premiership team in July 2019. Boyle also represented Australia at the World Cup 9s tournament in October 2019.
