Auger-Aliassime won his first ITF junior singles title at the G3 in Querétaro in February 2015. He won his second consecutive ITF junior singles title and his first doubles title in the G4 in Zapopan a week later. He won his first junior G1 title in late August 2015 in College Park, defeating compatriot Denis Shapovalov. After defeating Thiago Monteiro, Andy Murray, and Corentin Moutet in the first three rounds of the 2020 US Open, Auger-Aliassime proceeded to the fourth round. He subsequently went on to lose in straight sets to Dominic Thiem, the second seed and eventual champion. Auger-Aliassime then competed in the rescheduled French Open, where he was defeated in the first round by Yoshihito Nishioka. He reached the final of the Bett1Hulks Indoors tournament in Cologne, Germany, in October, but lost to Alexander Zverev, a local favorite.

Despite being 2 sets to love up, Auger-Aliassime lost in the fourth round of the 2021 Australian Open to Russian qualifier Aslan Karatsev. Auger-Aliassime was defeated in the first round of the French Open by Andreas Seppi. In the 2021 Stuttgart Open final, he lost to Marin for the eighth time (of eight final appearances).
