He gave a power-packed performance at McDonald’s All-American Game. There he was awarded as the Most Valuable Player for the West Team.

Bradley won several accolades for his amazing freshman season. He was also honoured by giving him the title of Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Freshman Of The Year. Bradley has also played for Germany by using the fact that he was given birth by his German origin mother to get the German Citizenship.
After his retirement as a player, Bradley became a part of private co-educational school named West Ridge Academy for at- risk youths in West Jordan, Utah. Some of the services that he provides there are that of a vice-principal, counsellor and coach. Bradley then filed papers on March 19, 2010 to stand in the elections as a Republican against incumbent Democratic Representative in the Utah House of Representatives.

On January 21, 2021, a tragic accident affected Shawn Bradley. He was struck by a motorist from behind while Bradley was cycling near his house in St. George, Utah. This accident caused a traumatic spinal chord injury on his neck leaving him paralyzed. In an interview with Sports Illustrated in 2022, Shawn Bradley informed that he has plans to move to a more wheel-chair friendly house in Dallas, Texas with his family as he continues his rehabilitation.
