Linda was born in a middle-class family in North Caldwell, New Jersey with the birth name, Linda Rose Tripp. After she graduated from high school, Linda went to the Katherine Gibbs secretarial school in Montclair and later on worked as a secretary at the Morristown Hotel. She graduated from Hanover Park High School in East Hanover, New Jersey in 1968

Linda worked in the US Pentagon’s public affairs office at the time of the Lewinsky-Clinton scandal. Linda served as the White House aide from 1990 to 1994 and later worked at the Pentagon’s Office of Public Affair from 1994 to 2001. On January 19, 2001, Linda got fired from her job at the Pentagon, which was the last full day of the Clinton administration. Linda believed the reason behind firing her was the revenge for the whistleblowing efforts which resulted in Clinton’s impeachment. Linda and Monica Lewinsky became close friends while working at the Pentagon’s Office of Public Affair and were known to each other for a year and a half before the whole scandal started. After Monica revealed her relationship with Bill Clinton to Linda, under the guidance of Lucciane Goldberg, Linda secretly started recording the phone conversation between Monica and Clinton. In January 1998, Linda handed over the recording tapes to the independent counsel Kenneth Starr, who got the permission to investigate the scandal. After more than 20 years of the scandal, Linda came out as a spokesperson to oppose the Clinton’s, especially at the time of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign. Liden continuously alleged Hillary for covering up the allegations on Bill Clinton’s involvement in the scandal.

Linda was born and raised in North Caldwell, New Jersey to her father, Albert Carotenuto who was a high school science and math teacher, and her German mother, Inge Carotenuto. In 1967, her parents got divorced in the year 1990. In 2004, Linda got married to Dieter Rausch, who is a German architect and are the proud parent of two children, Allison Tripp, and Ryan Tripp. They together lived in Middleburg, Virginia, and together owned and used to run a German winter-themed holiday store named ‘Christmas Sleigh’. On December 1, 2003, when Linda made her appearance along with Larry King in Larry King live, Linda talked about herself living with breast cancer.
