Narayana gave him his first role in the film “Sipayi Koothuru” and even though the film didn’t make well at the Box Office Kaikala was immediately noticed by many. Thanks to his resemblance to N.T. Rama Rao played his dupe in several films and was later offered a role by Rama Rao himself in his film “Apoorva Sahasra Siraccheda Chintamani” where he played the role of a prince.
However, Kaikala had his first break when he was cast by B. Vittalacharya as a Villain in “Kanaka Durga Pooja Mahima”. He performed so well as a Villain that he became a go-to for every villain role out there. Later on, he established the Rama Films production named after his Idol and look-alike Rama Rao. Some of the famous films from his production house are “Kodama Simham”, “Bangaru Kutumbam”, and “Muddula Mogudu”. During his film career, he has appeared in 750 films, mostly in Villain roles or as a dupe to Rama Rao.

Satyanarayana spent his youth as an actor and over the period of his life, he appeared in a total of 750 films. However, he later stepped into Politics, and his fame as an actor helped him win the constituency. Kaikala was a member of the Telugu Desam Party and won the Lok Sabha elections from the Machilipatnam constituency in 1996. The Telugu Desam Party is opposed to BJP or is not in alliance with it. In 2012, he appeared as a Jury Member for South Region II at the 59th National Films Awards.
Kaikala won a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017, Raghupathi Venkaiah Award in 2011, and a Best Feature Film award in 1994 for “Bangaru Kutumbam”. He has also been awarded other honourary awards by several other organizations such as NTR Vignan Trust Award, Natasekhara Award by NGO in Anantpur and Gudivada Municipal Civic Center, and Kalaprapurna Award given by Kavali Cultural Association.
