Wiggins was born on February 23, 1995, in Toronto, Ontario. He was raised in the vicinity of Vaughan portion of Thornhill, Ontario. Andrew is the son of retired NBA player Mitchell Wiggins, an American, and her mother, who was former Olympic track and field sprinter, Marita Payne-Wiggins, a Canadian who is basically from Barbados. PROFESSIONAL CAREER: Andrew Wiggins became available for the NBA draught in 2014, and the Cleveland Cavaliers selected him as their first pick. After Anthony Bennett, who was also picked by the Cavaliers, he is only the second number one draught pick of Canadian heritage. He did not, however, appear in a single game for Cleveland. He was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves two months after the draught, in August 2014. Bennett was moved to the Timberwolves alongside Wiggins, who had joined the Cavaliers the previous season.
