Karen Pence was earlier Karen Sue Batten. She was born on 1st January 1957 at McConnell Air Force Base in Kansas to her parents Lilian and John M. Batten. Her father was a United Airlines official. She grew up in the Broad Ripple Village neighborhood of Indianapolis. She had a tough childhood because her parents divorced when she was very young. Later on, Her mother married Barnard Barcio.

She really liked the idea and promotes Art Therapy. Moreover, she visited the campus of Florida State University to highlight the university’s art therapy program, which dates back to the 1990s.
