Maurizio was born in the year 1948 on the month of September on the day of 26th. He was born in Florence as the only child of the actors Rodolfe Gucci and Sandra Ravel. In the year of 1972, Gucci moved to the City of New York to work with his uncle Aldo Gucci. In the early 1980s years, he lived in a completely luxurious penthouse in the Olympic tower which was gifted to him by his father. Later in the year 1982, he was said to have moved back to Milan, and in the year 1983, he launched a legal war against Aldo for control over Gucci after becoming Gucci’s majority shareholder division following by his father’s death.
Later in the year 1986 Gucci fled to Switzerland to avoid the prosecution after Aldo, who was trying to seek revenge, had accused him of forging his father’s signature to avoid paying inheritance taxes. He was originally found guilty but was later acquitted.
