He started out as a batting all-rounder, but in 2012, he was slowly converted to become a bowler under the tutelage of bowling coach, Dayle Hadlee, brother of Richard Hadlee. He made his Twenty20 debut for Canterbury on 4 December 2016 in the 2016-17 Super Smash. In June 2018, he was awarded a contract with Canterbury for the 2018–19 season.
