The Emily Krzyzewski Center, a non-profit organization in Durham named after Mike Krzyzewski’s mother, was launched in 2006 by Mickie, Mike and their family together. The objective is to encourage kids in kindergarten through high school to dream large, behave with integrity and purpose, and attain their full potential as community leaders. Mickie and her husband Mike, have also been involved in fundraising and support for the Duke Children’s Hospital, the Children’s Miracle Network, and the V Foundation for Cancer Research for many years.  They’ve served as chairs and/or led big fundraising initiatives in each of those organizations.
