In 2006 got an award for best cinematography for English feature film “The Last Monk” at Cine International Film Festival.
In 2007 he got for short feature film Akhnoor as Best Film Award at the Golden Gate Film Festival, USA
Integrated Realization Award at Belgium International Film Festival and last but not the least Best Director at San Francisco International Film Festival USA in year 2007.
In 2018 Sen got Best Film Award for his documentary film “In the Name of Love” at London Independent Film Awards.
Sudipto film Controversy
He was assaulted during his screening of a film at JNU on 28th April of 2018 his fil “ In The Name of Love” he was blamed and event was stopped because according to the JNU Students Union (JNUSU) alleging that film encouraged communal differences as it was on the concept of love jihad.
In another incident recently where he was again in controversy his film “ The Kerala Story” because this film is about forceful conversion of 32,000 girl to Islam who are from Kerala.and taken to Islamic countries like Syria and Afganistan and receiving training for joining the (ISIS) But this became a controversy but Sudipto said also that this film is not anti-muslim or anti-community it was just a pattern identified in Kerala that ISIS is converting Kerala into Islamic state which was predicted by V.S Achutananda
