In her younger years, she attended Warwick Senior High School. Here she took an interest in dancing and started studying jazz, tap, ballet, and modern dance by the age of seven. This interest and hobby of hers later developed into a passion for artistic roller skating. She is a roller-skating champion who has won bronze medals in the National Championships in 1989 and 1990. She has also obtained a silver medal at the Junior World Championship in 1991.

Melissa George Career

She started her acting career on the Australian soap opera Home and Away (1993–96). Later on, she moved to the United States. Here, she started her feature film debut in Dark City (1998). This earned her a lot of supporting roles in many different shows. She was in The Limey (1999), Mulholland Drive (2001), and Down with Love (2003).

She started appearing in the lead role when she secured her role as Kathy Lutz in the 2005 remake of The Amityville Horror. This made her quite popular in the horror genre and she has played many roles in these films.

She secured the leading role on TV series with Alias (2003–04), Grey’s Anatomy (2008–09), and The Good Wife (2013–14). She won a Golden Globe nomination for her portrayal of Laura Hill on HBO’s In Treatment (2008). Not long ago, has played a role in the Australian miniseries The Slap (2011). She received a Logie Award for the series. She played the role of Diane Hagerty in 2018 for Hulu’s The First. Presently, she plays Margot on the Apple TV+ drama series The Mosquito Coast (2021).

Love Life

She met Chilean furniture designer and film director Claudio Dabed in Bali and the couple got married in 2000. Although they announced the divorce in 2011.

In the same year, she met French entrepreneur Jean David Blanc, at a BAFTA awards party. The two of them have two sons, Raphaël and Solal. In September 2016, George separated from Blanc as he had allegedly domestically abused her at their home in Paris. She was hospitalized with head and neck injuries.
