Lynn has attended Fresno’s Bullard High School which is a public secondary school. She started to play soccer from there also and she is the part of varsity team of the school. She has been an honorable player during her senior years and she set a record by scoring 117 goals in her school career for both, boys and girls. Lynn participated in county and section games and helped her team in winning those titles and has got 1st runner-up position in the regional finals.
In 2011, she joined the University of Pepperdine and she joined the athletics team of the university, Pepperdine Waves. In her fresher year, she scored 6 goals in all 20 games. She played for all 3 years of her university and in 2014, she graduated with a degree along with setting records in her senior years with 14 goals she has been titled the WCC player of the week thrice.

She debuted her professional soccer career in 2015 after she got selected by Western New York Flash during her college draft and played her debut match on 12th April 2015 against Seattle Reign FC. She appeared 17 times in that season and scored 4 goals. In the 2016 season, scored 11 goals and emerged as a rising star. She was awarded the golden boot and named the Most Valuable Player of 2016 NWSL. Lynn let her team win the season 2016 against Washington Spirit.
In 2017, Williams moved to North Carolina Courage and be there till 2021. In the 2017 games, Lynn scored 9 goals for her new team and helped her team to become April 2017’s Team of the Month.
