Isaac assisted her student in overcoming trauma at the time. Years of experience guiding children through emotional trauma as well as mental health problems have made her a well-known figure. She had previously begun a project named AWARE (Advancing Wellness and Resilience in Education.) She has remained the project’s most strong driving force and personality. Many tribal students have benefited from the project she started at Saginaw Chippewa Academy, which has been supported by the MT Please and Shepherd School Districts. Through this project, she was able to secure a five-year federal grant of $9 million USD in 2019 to address the mental health issues of American students. This project, through her, has raised awareness about mental trauma among teachers, staff, and students.
