Sammie Marquez Benson aka Blac Youngsta was born on the month of April on the 8th, 1990, in a place which is near McMillian Street, a poor area on the south side of Memphis, Tennesse. Benson and his younger brothers were raised by their grandparents. Despite both of his grandparents having jobs, they have had earned very little and struggled to put food on the table. Blac’s grandfather had managed to get him a job in the local grocery market when he was just about 7 years of age, however, he was fired when the store manager had fought him placing fake orders to the store in order to take the food home for him and his brothers.
Then after losing his job at the grocery market, Blac began to sell drugs and served numerous sentences in prison for drug and gun charges. In the year of 2012, after serving a year in prison, Blac began hosting local block parties which made him locally popular in the area of South Memphis. Shortly after, that he began pursuing a career in music, releasing his debut mixtape fast Bricks in the year 2012.

Taking the much famous stage name to be Blac Youngsta, Benson began and started his career in music more seriously from the year 2012 onwards, releasing three mixtapes as part of his Fast Bricks series, from the year 2012 to 2014, as per the reports had been mentioned.
Blac’s breakout song which was named “Heavy” was said to have been released in the year 2015 and has gained the attention of Yo Gotti, who appeared on the song’s remix and has even signed Blac Youngsta to his Collective Music Group label. Blac’s first mixtape as a known member of CMG, I Swear To God, was released on September 24, in the year 2015, and that has featured guest appearances from Yo Gotti and also Boosie Badazz. In March 2016, Blac Youngsta released a mixtape which was titled Young and Reckless, followed by F*ck Everybody, and also released in September 2016, with features such as from Young Thug, Quavo, Jacques, and also YFN Lucci.

In January in the year of 2016, police were said to be called at a Wells Fargo branch in downtown Atlanta, near Georgia after Blac withdrew almost around twenty million US dollars from his bank account in order to purchase a new car. Workers have reported allegedly believed that Youngsta was actually robbing the bank after he was seen to be leaving the bank with the money. Blac and all his other associates were then released at the scene.
