Cheryl Burke (born May 3, 1984) is a dancer, model, and television personality from the United States. She is most known as one of the professional dancers on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, where she was the first female professional to win the competition and the first professional to win it twice in a row. Burke has appeared in 23 seasons. She finished second on the NBC show I Can Do That. In 2017, she took over for Abby Lee Miller on Dance Moms.
Burke’s autobiography, Dancing Lessons, was published in 2011. It includes an account of how, when she was 5, she was assaulted by a handyman who was assisting her family and fondled her repeatedly. The same man, eventually identified as Gerry Depaula, molested her sister as well.
