Taylor Walker was born on 25 April 1990 in Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia. Walker graduated from Willyama High School in Broken Hill. His father, Wayne, was a famous footballer in Broken Hill who played more than 350 games. This led to Walker following in his footsteps. In 2006, Walker received an NSW Scholarship contract with Adelaide. He was only 16 years old at the time. However, he proceeded to play for his senior local amateur league team, North Broken Hil. He plays at center half-forward.

Junior Career
Taylor Walker spent his first year at the Crows playing for Norwood in the SANFL. He kicked more than 50 goals in the 2008 season. He made his first AFL appearance in round 1 the next season, against Collingwood.
Walker came back to the side in 2010 and conferred fluctuating form, showing a very inconsistent performance. He finished with 35 goals for the season from 18 games. This included two sets of 4 goals against Fremantle and then Geelong. Notwithstanding inconsistent form and injuries, Walker was the club’s leading goalkicker in 2011, booting 32 goals from only 13 games. This ranked at an average of 2.5 per game, placed sixth in the AFL.
Captaincy
In January 2015, Walker was chosen to be the captain of Adelaide. He was in his best form that year. They finished fourth in the Coleman Medal with 55 goals in the home-and-away season. The year was also mentally difficult for the team. They had to go through the death of senior coach Phil Walsh. The team still managed to make the semi-finals. He played in his 100th AFL game in round 18 against the Sydney Swans. It was played at the Sydney Cricket Ground, fittingly in his home state of New South Wales.
In 2016, he was declared the captain of the year by the AFL Player’s Association.
Recent plays
In September 2020, Walker became the all-time leading goalkicker for the Adelaide Crows. He was also Adelaide’s leading goalkicker for the shortened 2020 season.
Before the round 21 Showdown match with Port Adelaide in 2021. The news of Walker having made a racist comment about a player in an opposing team in the SANFL went viral. After an inquiry by the AFL, he was forbidden from playing in the following six rounds and was fined $20,000.
