Stephon achieved the title of Mr.Football for the state of South Carolina and even achieved the first-team all-state honors by ‘The State’. an American daily newspaper. Stephon is also named as an All-American by’Parade’ and ‘EA Sports’. In track & field, Stephon participated as a sprinter in his early years of 2008 and achieved a PR of 11.41 seconds in the 100-meter race in prelims of the Taco Bell Classic.  At the New York County Meet, Stephon was placed in 5th position with 23.14 seconds in the 200-meter race and was placed at 9th position in the 400-meter race with a time of 54.94 seconds. After his graduation was completed, Stephon got enrolled in South Carolina and participated in spring practice which was a success for him as he came out of spring practice as a starter at cornerback.

Stephon is one of the 37 defensive backs to take part in the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana, and finished all the needed combine drills.  He positioned second among all defensive backs in the short shuttle, positioned sixth in the broad jump, and seventh in the vertical jump. On March 28, 2012, Stephon took part in South Carolina’s pro day along with Alshon Jeffery, Antonio Allen, Melvin Ingram, and 11 others.
