Mikaela Shiffrin from her school days used to be extremely competitive and have really good scores in competitions. Her last 2 years of graduation were spent in Europe, and in June she graduated from Burke Mountain Academy while she was on the World Cup circuit in 2013.

At the age of 16, she got into Alpine Skiing World Cup, where she started at 40th and unfortunately her left shin guard got lost in the halfway, that is when Mikaela secured 12th place. Whereas, during the second run, she secured 3rd place.

On the night of Slalom in Are, Sweden, she won her first-ever world cup race in December. She was behind Judy Nagal. In the same year, Mikaela Shiffrin won at Zagreb, Croatia and just 11 days after that, she won third time in Flachau, Austria.

The year was a lucky charm to her, she got named “ESPNWs Impact 25” At the very onset of 2014, she won a Slalom at Levi in Finland. She was learning new things from every new event, which resulted in her being a runner-up in the Giant Slalom. Later, in Bormio, Italy, Mikaela Shiffrin also secured the first position.

She made a new record that year. But as nothing comes free in success, she also had to face difficulties when she got injured that year. However, a true fighter never gives up, and she didn’t too. She made her return sooner than expected and celebrated yet another win in Crans- Montana.

She finished her first world cup race in Vermont. Mikaela Shiffrin took home the 11th World Cup that she won in slalom in Sestriere, Italy. She was winning awards and titles one after the other. However, at the Snow Queen Trophy race in Zagreb, she failed to finish the first run. At such a young age of 22, she had over 9 world cup victories and many more still awaited her.

From 2017 till 2021, she has received over 15 awards for her hard work and dedication. She has grown and has made everyone proud as well as become an inspiration to the other growing fighters.
