By 2005 her company had already raised 6 million dollars and by 2010 it was 92 million dollars. In July 2011, Holmes was introduced to former secretary of state George Shultz. After a two-hour meeting, he joined the Theranos board of directors and she became famous for forming the most illustrious board in corporate history.

Elizabeth established partnerships with many other companies and was dwelling on her success. However, she reached her downfall when John Carreyrou of The Wall Street Journal revealed that Theranos’s blood testing device is faulty or bogus. He investigated the company secretly for a long time and talked with several ex-whistleblower employees of the company. Even though initially, Elizabeth threatened to sue him but over time his investigations were found quirt true.
Soon after, Elizabeth was banned for a limited period of time to own or direct any chemical lab involving blood testing or related activities.
