He was sent to the Williamsport Crosscutters after signing and pitched for them for the entire season, going 5–1 with a 1.97 ERA in ten games (seven starts). He pitched for the Clearwater Threshers and the Reading Fightin Phils in 2017, going 9–9 with a 3.39 ERA in 26 games (25 starts) for both teams. He was selected a Florida State League All-Star with Clearwater. Irvin pitched for the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in 2018, posting a 14–4 record (leading the IL in wins and setting a franchise record) while also topping all Class AAA pitchers in ERA (2.57) and WHIP (1.054) over 26 games (25 starts).
