Chris Metzen Career
After growing up and finishing his studies, he applied to Blizzard Entertainment and began his career in design. Blizzard Entertainment was then known as Chaos Studios. A friend of Metzen has seen his work and knew about his passion and he recommended him to the company. Soon after the recruiting process started and he was hired.
As time passed, Blizzard Entertainment and the company’s heads started including Chris in every other project for manual design, illustration, and concept art. Once Warcraft came into existence, Chris’s role in the whole project grew quickly and he got the opportunity to work on the whole fictional universe thing. In early 2005, Metzen announced that he was working independently on a graphic novel. Over the years Chris has collaborated with several authors and artists and has created brilliant characters, universes, games, books, stories and so much more.
He also made a cameo appearance in the film Warcraft which was released in 2016. His role in the movie was that of a turbaned vendor in Stormwind. After working for nearly 23 years with Blizzard Entertainment, in 2016, Chris decided to retire. The reason for his announcement was that he wanted to spend more time with his wife and family. However, the good thing is that Metzen has decided to come back. Yes, you read that right. Very recently in December 2022, Chris announced that he is ready to come back and work for Blizzard Entertainment again.
