Later on, on the grounds of using excessive force the Police officers involved in the incidents were announced to be facing administrative Action by the Memphis Police Department. On 20th January, MPD dismissed the 5 officers involved in the incident namely Tadarrius Bean, Demetrius Haley, Emmitt Martin III, Desmond Mills Jr., And Justin Smith. The Mayor of Memphis, Jim Strickland said camera footage of the incident will be released soon. Meanwhile, Nichol’s family has hired Ben Crump to advocate his case.
