She completed her graduation in 1991 where she pursued English literature at New Hall (now known as Murray Edward Colleges) at the University of Cambridge.

Susan Perkins began her career as one half of comedian double act, Mel and Sue, in the year 1990s. After the 2000s she pursued her solo career and hosted several shows on the famous platform BBC. In the middle of all the opportunities, she also appeared playing roles in many fictional series as well such as British Comedy at Crossroads’, ‘Heading Out’ and wits end. Besides, she also hosted many travel and game shows. To name a few ‘Kolkata with Sue Perkins’, ‘The Mekong River with Sue Perkins’, and ‘The Big Spell’ were a treat for the audience. She also published her autobiography titled ‘Spectacles’ in October 2015. Mel and Sue made a comeback as a comedy duo together in 2010 and worked on a one-season-long chat show. Susan Perkins came out as a lesbian in 2002 in the show ‘I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here. She was introduced to this show by her then-girlfriend Rhona Cameron. Sue has been quite popular for her relationship with TV presenter Anna Richardson since 2014 however there are rumors of their ‘splits’. A tumor was discovered in her pituitary gland while Sue was having medical examinations for one of the television show back in 2015. Fortunately, the tumor is benign and non-symptomatic.
