Stuart Damon was born on February 5, 1937, in Brooklyn, New York. His birth name was Stuart Michael Zonis. He is born to Marvin Leonard Zonis, who was a manufacturer. His parents were Russian Jewish immigrants who made their home in America after fleeing the Bolshevik Revolution. Nothing much is known about his early life. Even more details on his family history are not known. The details about his siblings or education are also in the dark. We do know about his wife though. He tied the knot with Deirdre Ann Ottewill in 1961. The two had been in the marriage for over 60 years. The two have two children Christopher Zonis, Jennifer Zonis. Unlike the information on his life, the details on his career are not obscure.  He started with a long series of roles on Broadway and then went on to sign as the Prince in the 1965 version of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella starring Lesley Ann Warren. This was the turning point of his career in television and soap operas. The very same year, he acquired a very important and featured role in one of the famous Broadway. He has prominently appeared as the cast in various broad ways, including the hit Irma La Douce (1960).

Stuart Damon moved to Great Britain in the 1960s and starred in the hit West End musical Charlie Girl with Anna Neagle in 1965. Hee had landed a role as an American secret agent Craig Stirling. The castmates in the ITC series The Champions were the British actors Alexandra Bastedo and William Gaunt. Stuart Damon was beginning to be a household name in America as Dr Alan Quartermaine Sr. on General Hospital. He also played the role of the short-lived spin-off of the show called Port Charles (1997–2003).

Stuart Damon won the Best Supporting Actor Emmy, in 1999 for Alan. In December 2006, the news came in that Damon was fired from the show General Hospital by Jill Farren Phelps. His last air date was scheduled for February 26, 2007, which was also his 70th birthday. His character was killed off on the show. The reason for his firing was unknown but the fellow cast members were greatly disappointed.

Despite the death of the character, he came in on the show to play the ghost of Alan Quartermaine until December 23, 2008.

In September 2009, Damon starred in As the World Turns as Janet and Teri Ciccone’s “Uncle” Ralph Manzo, a businessman most likely involved with the mob. He left the series on October 30, 2009, but returned for three episodes between August 23, 2010, and August 25, 2010. During March 19–25, 2010, He has also played the role of Governor Jim Ford on Days of Our Lives.
