Simon Rimmer was born on 5th of May 1963 in Wallasey in England. He had completed his education from De Montfort University in England. He had opened his first restaurant called Greens in 1990. He barely had any experience in the kitchen but he had two cookery books and an intense passion to make a beautiful place to eat. The restaurant was a vegetarian based destination situated in West Didsbury. Although he studied fashion and textile design in his early years, he taught himself excellent cooking later on. The restaurant turned out to be a huge success. Later in October 2006, he opened his second restaurant named Earle, which was situated in Hale. He later sold it to a restaurateur in 2016. 

Simon’s Career

After the success of his well known restaurants, Simon Rimmer got quite the fame. He started his television career in Granada Breeze initially. Later on, he began to appear regularly on popular shows like This MorningThe One ShowThe Gadget Show and Pointless Celebrities. On BBC two, he had presented on Making a Meal of It, Win It Cook It, Tricks of the Restaurant Trade, Eat the Week with Iceland and Secrets of Our Favorite Snacks on Channel 4 and Breaking Into Tesco on Channel 5. Besides his appearance on these shows, Simon Rimmer is notable for his presentation along with Tim Lovejoy on Something for the Weekend on BBC Two from 2006 till 2012. Currently he is the resident chef on Sunday Brunch on Channel 4 which began on March 25 2012. In the year 2013, Simon Rimmer appeared as a judge to choose the winner and helped promote the event for British Sausage Week. Besides being a chef on shows and owning restaurants, he has published books as well. His first book came out in October 2004, titled The Accidental Vegetarian. Later in 2006, his second book, Rebel Cook, came out. In 2008, his third book that he co-wrote with Lovejoy, Lazy Brunch, came out and it was based on a feature in Something from the Weekend. His fourth book came out in 2009, called The Seasoned Vegetarian. In 2017, he was featured on Strictly Come Dancing and was paired with Karen Clifton. He currently owns 9 restaurants in England and one in Dubai.
