Who was Robert Brown: Wiki, Age, Bio, Actor, Death, Wife, Shows: Robert Brown was an American television actor who was most active in the 1960s and 1970s. He was known for his work in: Here Comes the Bride, Star Trek: The Original Series, and Tower of London. Robert Brown’s full name was Robin Adair MacKenzie Brown, he was born on November 17, 1926, in Trenton, New Jersey, the U.S. He had three cameo appearances on Perry Mason in the early 1960s, playing the roles of Goring Gilbert and Frank Sykes, respectively, in the episodes “The Case of the Reluctant Model” (1963) and “The Case of the Larcenous Lady” (1960). In “Darrin on a Pedestal,” which aired on October 22, 1970, he played the come-alive Gloucester Fisherman’s Memorial statue in another unforgettable Bewitched performance.

Robert Brown was born on November 17, 1926, in Trenton, New Jersey,  U.S. His English father, William, worked as a butler for Teddy Roosevelt and Sara Roosevelt; his mother, Margaret, was born in Scotland. Robert Brown started his acting career in New York City, where he studied and trained under renowned actors and directors like Walter Mathau, Rod Steiger, and the Erwin Piscator Dramatist Workshop at the New School for Social Research. His debut Broadway performance was in Lee Strasberg and John Garfield’s Skipper Next to God. Robert was chosen by Maxwell Anderson to portray Socrates’ son in the Playwrights Co.’s Barefoot in Athens.

In the 1968–1970 ABC sitcom Here Come the Brides, Brown played the charming, quick-talking Jason Bolt in a lead role. In the 1971–1972 syndicated marine adventure series Primus, he played Carter Primus.

He appeared in a 1962 episode of the NBC western series Bonanza as a pastor (“Blessed Are They”). On the Star Trek episode “The Alternative Factor,” Brown alternated between the two characters playing Lazarus (1967). Robert Brown was cast at the last minute when John Drew Barrymore failed to appear for shooting Robert’s only feature film credits are the science fiction film The Flame Barrier and the horror film Tower of London (1962). He also appeared with Columbo in the episode “Playback” in 1975.

Brown, who was good friends with Carroll O’Connor,  and appeared in an episode of O’Connor’s series Archie Bunker’s Place in 1979 and an episode of In the Heat of the Night titled “Poor Relations,” which aired in 1994.

According to television producer Perry Lafferty, Brown was originally cast to play Steve McGarrett in the original Hawaii Five-O but was changed at the last minute by Jack Lord after producer Leonard Freeman felt Brown was not the perfect fit.

In the two-part “The Mad Dog Coll Story” episode of the NBC series The Lawless Years, which aired on July 28 and August 4, 1961, he was chosen to play Peter Coll. In three Perry Mason episodes, he made cameos as the murderer: Goring Gilbert in “The Case of the Reluctant Model” in 1963 and as Frank Sykes in “The Case of the Larcenous Lady” in 1960. He also played Tracey Walcott in “The Case of the Sleepy Slayer” in 1964. He also had a single appearance on Bewitched in the episode “Darrin on a Pedestal,” which aired on October 22, 1970.
