Lexie Hull was born in Liberty Lake, Washington, a suburb of Spokane, on September 13, 1999. Her twin sister, Lacie, was her basketball rival as a child. Hull was a member of the Lady Cubs Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) program from third to eighth grade, where her father and a friend, Ron Hawkins, coached her. From 2014 until 2018, she represented Spokane Valley High School in Spokane Valley, Washington. Jaime and Jason Hull are Hull’s parents. Lacie, her identical twin sister, was her high school and college basketball teammate. Jason Hull, Hull’s father, was an NCAA Division III All-American basketball player for Whitworth University. John, her grandfather, was a Western Washington collegiate basketball player. In high school, Hull got a 4.0 GPA. She is studying management science and engineering for a master’s degree at Stanford. From 2014 through 2018, she fought for Central Valley High School in Spokane Valley, Washington. Hull scored 13.8 points and 6.3 rebounds per game as a rookie. She scored 18.1 points and 8.6 rebounds per game as a sophomore, leading her team to the Class 4A state championship, and was voted the tournament’s most valuable player (MVP). She was also named the Associated Press (AP) Player of the Year for Class 4A. Hull averaged 16.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.2 steals per game as a junior at Central Valley, helping her team to a fourth-place finish in the state tournament. Washington Gatorade Player of the Year, AP Class 4A Player of the Year, and Greater Spokane League MVP were among the awards she received. Hull averaged 20.4 points per game as a senior, along with 8.4 rebounds, 2.6 steals, and 2.1 assists. She was named tournament MVP after leading Central Valley to a 29–0 record and a state championship in Class 4A. Hull also helped her team win the GEICO Nationals, scoring 26 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in the title game against Hamilton Heights Christian Academy. Hull had 21 points and nine rebounds in a 78–63 victory over Louisville in the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight. In the Final Four, she had 18 points and 13 rebounds in a 66–65 victory over South Carolina. Hull had ten points and ten rebounds in Stanford’s 54–53 victory over Arizona in the national championship game, helping the Cardinal capture their first title since 1992. She made the all-tournament team in the Final Four. Hull was a two-time All-Pac-12 selection as a junior, averaging 11.6 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. In an 80–68 victory over Oregon on January 7, 2022, she scored 33 points and hit seven three-pointers.
