She was born on 24 July 1970 in Dublin, Republic Of Ireland.  Her father worked as a Marketing director in Steel and Engineering Industry. Her father belonged from Derbyshire and her mother was Greek who moved to Britain after her birth. She attended her primary schooling from Edith Weston, Rutland, and then from King Edward VII  School in Sheffield.  Her mother was a fashion designer by profession and her father worked in a British Steel Corporation.  From a young age, she was keen on acting and attended acting classes.  She was a part of the Crucible Theatre’s stage production of Peter Pan with Joanne Whalley and Paula Wilcox.

Bradbury made her debut as a television presenter with Chrysalis Tv. She also worked as its Los Angeles correspondent for GMTV in 1996.

Bradbury started working for BBC in the summer of 2006 where she and Arkin Salih hosted the program “Are we being served?” The show received heavy criticisms and was regarded as the evilest program ever made.

Bradbury presented four series of “Kill it, Cook it, Eat it” on BBC from 2008 to 2011. The series mainly dealt with animal consumers around the world and centered around commercially farmed animals hunted wild animals, and how the commercially farmed animals were used apart from their meats.

She had to quit BBC temporarily because she was alleged in the press regarding irregularities in her Virgin Atlantic frequent flyer account. Later the allegations were cleared and she made a comeback and presented Watch Dog which was showcased on 20 April 2009.  She presented numerous series including  Julia Bradbury’s German Wanderlust which was a walking-themed series where she explored Germany’s exquisite monuments concerning romanticism.  She also presented the series “That’s Britain” where she brought the beautiful and ugly side of Britain to the people.

She presented a variety of shows for ITV including “Wish you were here” and an iconic ITV series called “Wonder Of Britain”

She is also renowned for her writing. She published her first book “Julia Bradbury’s Railway Walks” on 7 October 2010. She published a total of five books.

Julia’s Personal Life:

Currently, Bradbury lives in Rutland. She tied knots in 2000 with Gerard Cunningham who works in property. On 4 August  2011, she gave birth to her first child who was named Zephyrus Cunningham.  On 12 March, she gave birth to the beautiful twins named Xanthe and Zena.

Bradbury was suffering from endometriosis since 2006.

On 19 September 2021 Bradbury addressed to the reporters that she was diagnosed with breast cancer and would be undergoing mastectomy later in the year.

Bradbury is a significant contributor to many charity works.  She has played a significant role in various charity organizations including the Scout Association, The Outdoor trust, Keep Britain Tidy and Bowel, and Prostate Cancer. She with the help of her sister raised approximately £7,000 to support patients fighting against cancer.

Bradbury was the president of the “Friends of The Peak District” till 2016 and now she is the Vice-President.  She also works for the British Heart Foundation encouraging people to exercise more to prevent the symptoms of heart diseases.
