Jack Laugher was born on 30 January 1995 in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. The name of her parents is David and Jackie Laugher. He was completed his high school at Ripon Grammar School, a co-educational state grammar school in Ripon, North Yorkshire.

Laugher took interest in diving when he was seven. He was at Harrogate Hydro Swimming Pool with his family. There a lifeguard suggested that he go for diving lessons. He started learning driving at the Harrogate and District Diving Club at the Hydro. When he was 14 he was met with an accident where he broke his upper arm during a trampolining competition and had a metal plate implanted to retain his humerus bone together.

Laugher has asserted that his last name is pronounced ‘Law’.

Laugher has stated that he is in a relationship. He began to date Lois Toulson in early 2017. She is also a British diver. Laugher has mentioned that he is supportive of the LGBT community and said that he has many gay friends.

Jack Laugher Career

Jack Laugher started his career early on. In 2010 he won the one-meter and three-meter springboard titles at the European Junior Championships and the World Junior Championships. In 2012 Laugher was picked for the Great Britain 2012 London Olympics team. On 6 August 2012, he faced his competitors in the Men’s 3-metre springboard, but he lost and did not make it to the semi-final stage. He became the Junior World champion again in October 2012 and won the 3m springboard in Adelaide, Australia.

Jack Laugher and his teammate, Chris Mears won three silvers in the 3m Synchro in four events of the Fina/NVC Diving World Series. The two of them were in China and one in Russia

Jack Laugher partnered with Dan Goodfellow in men’s synchronized 3m springboard. This was because his customary partner Chris Mears had resolved to take a break from competition and later on retired. He won silver with Goodfellow in the 3m synchronized in the World Aquatics Championships held in Gwangju, South Korea.

Olympic career

In January 2016, Laugher sustained a foot injury while training. At the 2016 Olympics, the team of Laugher and Mears turned out to be the first-ever diving gold medal winners for Great Britain in the men’s synchronized 3-meter springboard.

At the 2021 FINA Diving World Cup held in Japan as an official test event for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Laugher and Goodfellow won gold in synchronized 3m springboard. And subsequently, in the Tokyo Olympics, Laugher and Dan Goodfellow came 7th in the men’s synchronized 3m springboard. He secured the bronze medal in the individual 3m springboard.
