Hali Flickinger Career
During her high school she was a three-time Scholastic All-American. In 2011 and 2012 she was the national champion at YMCA Short Course national championships in the 200-yard butterfly. The most amazing thing about is that she set a record in both races. In 2014 she finished 9th in the 400-meter IM, 9th in the 400-meter backstroke and 3rd in the 200-meter butterfly, putting her on the 2014-2015 USA Swimming National Team. She currently represents the Cali Condors which is part of the International Swimming League.
In 2012 Flickinger qualified for the US Olympic Trials where she finished 25th in the 200m butterfly, 29th in the 200m backstrokes and 30th in the 200m IM. At the 2014 Pan Pacific Championships in Australia, she finished 10th in the 100m butterfly and even competed at the 2011 FINA World Junior Championship in Peru and the 2011 FINA World Cup in Russia and Germany. She won two silver medals in Russia.
In the 2016 US Olympics Trial, she finished second in the 200M Fly to Camille Adams, earning her a spot on the US Olympic Team. At Summer Olympics 2016 at Rio de Janerio, she finished 7th in the 200m butterfly. In the trials of Summer Olympics 2021, she qualified for her 2nd Olympics, this time in the 400 IM, touching for 2nd behind Emma Weyant in a lifetime best of 4:33.96. In the final of the 200 flies, she swam consistently as ever and touched at 2:05.85 in a new PR and US Open record, making her eligible for her second Tokyo event.
