Guz Khan Early Life

Guz Khan is the smallest of three children, he has two sisters ten and eleven years older than him. His father passed away when Khan was three. years old. He is a Muslim of Pakistani Punjabi. Khan spent his childhood on a housing estate in Hillfields, Coventry, and attended Stoke Park School. Khan published his first video on Facebook in 2014 during June he had first performed an opening on stage for Aamer Rahman at Birmingham Repertory Theatre. During his second time on stage at a comedy evening at the Library of Birmingham BBC, Asian Network organized a  Comic Relief, with Citizen Khan. Khan presented under the stage name “Guzzy Bear” 

During June of 2015, while performing his character Mobeen, a Muslim living in Small Heath,  Khan made a video declaring mock outrage at the likely usage of the “Paki”, a racial slur for Pakistanis in the film Jurassic World, he called out to boycott the movie because a lead character shouted “the Pachys are out of containment”, (an acronym of the North American pachycephalosaurus (a type of Dinosaur) In the video, Khan narrates a recent journey he and his friend took to the cinema to watch the film, he described some distressing incidents in the cinema while watching the movie and he proposes the point that the phrase sounded exceptionally racist to an untrained ear. In six days, the video was watched more than 340,000 times on YouTube, and it has also gained over 700,000 views on Facebook. Khan’s hashtag on Twitter, #BoycottJurassicWorld augmented attention,  his viewers also took their voice to Twitter very shocked at the use of the derogatory term.  Birmingham Mail broadcasted the story, Khan was interviewed by radio stations in the United States and Indonesia.

In June 2015, Khan decided to make a short film Roadman Ramadan as a component of the British Muslim Comedy series, five short films by Muslim comedians were commissioned by the BBC to be released on BBC iPlayer. Khan’s sketch as a model to Ramadan, the Islamic month for fasting where Muslims fast from dawn to dusk, seeing Khan’s character Mobeen guiding his newly converted friend Trev through his first Ramadan. In the month of July, Khan resigned from his job as a school teacher to pursue a career in comedy after he uploaded his YouTube clips and they went viral.  In November, he starred in an episode of the comedy web show Corner Shop Show. In December of 2015, Khan delivered at BBC Asian Network Big Comedy Night in Birmingham a unique night honoring  the 50 years of Asian programs on BBC

In February 2017, Khan performed as Rocky in the passionate comedy film Finding Fatimah it was a Muslim-centric film. He went on to play the unruly baggage handler Mo Khan in Borderline.  Guz Khan  has also presented on the BBC stand-up show Live at the Apollo, the episode aired  on 31 December 2017, hosted by the comedian Henning Wehn
