She was born in February 1957 and as of 2022, she is 65 years old. She is the wife of the United States Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. She has gained national attention for her conservative activism and commentary, especially considering that spouses of Supreme Court justices typically remain politically neutral.

Most recently she has made headlines because of her interview with the committee looking into the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, she reaffirmed her claim that the 2020 election was stolen, according to the panel’s chairman, Rep. Bennie G. Thompson. She made this statement during a five-hour closed-door interview with the committee, nearly two years after Joe Biden’s election.

Conservative activist Ginni Thomas drew the committee’s attention after they discovered emails she exchanged with attorney John Eastman, who promoted the absurd legal theory that Vice President Mike Pence might block the congressional certification of Biden’s electoral college victory.

Ginni Thomas went to  Westside High School in Omaha, Nebraska, where she participated in Republican, debate, and student government organizations. In high school, her goal was to get a seat in Congress, she was very interested and active in politics since her childhood and had strong republican views. Because Gini lived near Washington DC she decided to attend a women’s college in Virginia. Later she was transferred to the University of Nebraska and then relocated to Creighton University.

After a brief stint working as a legislative assistant for Representative Hal Daub, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science and business communication from Creighton University (1979) and a Juris Doctor from Creighton University School of Law (1983).

1981 to 1988

She took her first job in 1981 at Hal Daub in Washington, D.C. Gini worked for 18 months at Hal Daub after that she went to finish her degree in Nebraska. She returned to Washington after receiving her “Doctor of Jurisprudence” degree to continue serving as Hal Daub’s legislative director.

She began working as an attorney and labour relations expert at the “United States Chamber of Commerce” in 1985. Virginia lobbied for the business community while employed by the “US Chamber of Commerce.” One of her most well-known arguments during her tenure as counsel was against the passage of the “Family and Medical Leave Act” (FMLA).

1989 to 1999

In 1989 she became Manager of Employee Relations and started working in the “Legislative Affairs Office” of the “US Department of Labor” in 1991. In 1991 Clarence Thomas her husband was nominated for the position in the U.S. Supreme Court by President George H. W. Bush and in the same year, he was accused of sexual harassment. In those difficult times, Gini stood by his husband. Virginia subsequently showed support for her husband by attending the Senate hearings.

In 1994 Virginia began working as a policy analyst for Congressman Dick Armey. While working for Dick Armey, conflict of interest was raised as her husband’s position as an Associate Justice on the United States Supreme Court continues to provide opportunities for Democratic Senators to accuse Virginia of a conflict of interest.

2000 to 2022

By the year 2000, she had begun working with the “Heritage Foundation.” It was One of the most significant conservative research groups in the nation, and also a conservative public policy think tank. Virginia was gathering resumes for future presidential appointees as the Supreme Court was resolving a recount dispute in Florida’s presidential election (Bush v. Gore), which led to yet another conflict of interest against her.

Virginia founded “Liberty Central” in 2009; it was a nonprofit lobbying organization that worked to unite conservative activists. ‘Liberty Central’ was also established to provide scorecards for Congressmen and to encourage conservative activists to vote.

The year 2010 Virginia launched another business called Liberty Consulting, Inc. where she aims to provide her clients with political donation strategies. On the website for her business, Virginia also mentions how her clients can benefit from her “experience and contacts.”

In 2013, Virginia was identified to be a key participant in the group of right-wing activists and journalists group known as “Groundswell.” Currently, she is serving as an Advisory Council at Turning Point USA: which is a right-wing organization. She also contributes as a columnist for “The Daily Caller,” where she promotes her political views.
