In the Summer Paralympics in Rio in the year 2016, she broke the British 50m butterfly record in 36.34 seconds and won the gold medal. She became a senior international level swimmer in the year 2015 after her debut in Great Britain for the 2012 International Deutsche Meisterschaften in Berlin.
