The most famous one to do so right now is Dylan Sadiq, commonly famous by the name ‘College Cuber.’ He is an amazing artist who is known for creating mosaics if professional athletes by using Rubik’s Cubes. He is capable to solve more than 500 cubes within a span of 3 hours only to create his art piece. Sadiq once as ” Being an engineer, I’m trained to imagine and create designs to solve real-life problems.”
Rubik’s cube is a very well-known 3-D puzzle toy, it was first introduced in 1974 by Hungarian sculptor and professor of architecture, earlier named as Magic Cube. Children use to join those colorful squares given, but no one ever thought of creating portraits and photo-realistic.
He first come up with a portrait of one of his favorite basketball player named Luka Doncic as the interest of the only sport he has in Basketball. And then tried of many other like mosaic of Detroit Tigers’ All-Star infielder Miguel Cabrera and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. He created a cube portrait within 4 hours and for that his charge is $8,000.
Sadiq had once revealed in an interview of him that at age of 10, his brother, Brandon challenged him to solve the Rubik’s Cube. At that time he had done that task within a week. And then he practiced later to solve it faster than earlier. After that he purchased many cubes and tried to create a mosaic of Doncic on April, 2021.

Sadiq a 21-year-old individual is a senior Biomedical Engineering student at Rutgers University, American leading public research university. He had never thought that it will grow to such an extent as it has never been seen earlier, but it took time and consistent work with patience. He also got projects from the NBA Pistons, MLB Tigers and NHL Red Wings, for which he had to travel from Bayonne, New Jersey to Detroit. In this project his aim was to create a portrait of Ben Wallace, Jared Goff, and Cabrera.
He had once expressed that his favorite project was MLS New York Red Bulls. By seeing the portrait of the Statue of Liberty which is displayed permanently in Red Bulls in Harrison, he feels proud of such art work.
Dylan Sadiq also famous as ‘The College Cuber’, once recorded a time-lapse video where he showed him building an artwork at his studio which is in Bayonne. The College Cuber started creating portraits of his favorite athletes to show his skills but it turn into huge success as many people appreciated his work. After sharing his work video on social media he got much more fame because of his amazing work which was liked and shared by many. From there he constantly packed with dates as many sports teams have been asking him to create such photos and logos of players.

He also mentioned in an interview that pandemic played a great role in finding his passion, as during pandemic he didn’t get much opportunity for in-person internships or hands-on experience in school. So there he thought of displaying his interest in Rubik’s Cubes on social media.
The first pro sports team which had paid for his mosaic portrait was the Detroit Pistons. Sadiq traveled to Motor City and created a portrait of Ben Wallace, the Pistons, Hall of Fame Center.
