Deanne Rose Life

Deanne Rose was born on March 3, 1999, in New Tecumseth, Ontario. Her parents are of Jamaican descent. Rose started playing soccer at the age of four. She spent most of her childhood in Alliston and attended Ernest Cumberland Elementary School in Alliston, Ontario. She later graduated from Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School in Tottenham, Ontario. She used to play club soccer for Scarborough GS United. In 2015, she was one of six players who were nominated for the BMO Canadian Player of the Year (Canada Soccer Women’s U-17 Program). Her height is 160 cm (5 ft 3 in) and she plays midfielder on the field.

Deanne Rose has been interested in soccer since she was young. She joined the Gators in 2017. On August 20, she secured her first goal in a 5–0 win over Troy. It was one of her most memorable moments. As a freshman, she recorded 9 goals, including five game-winners, and contributed to 3 assists.

In January 2021, Rose was picked10th overall in the 2021 NWSL Draft. It was by the North Carolina Courage.

International career

Deanne Rose received her first cap for Canada’s senior national team in December 2015. She was 16 at that time. In February 2016, she scored her first two goals for the team. The match was against Guyana. It helped Canada to win 5–0 during the group stage of the 2016 CONCACAF Women’s Olympic Qualifying Championship. Her third tournament goal was during the semifinal against Costa Rica. This helped in Canada winning 3–1 and eventually qualifying for the 2016 Rio Olympics. Canada proceeded to the final where they were taken down by the United States with a score of 2–0.

In August 2016, she helped Canada win their second Olympic bronze medal. Here she scored the game-opening goal in the third-place match against Brazil. In this match, Canada won with a score of 2–1. This also made her the youngest female Olympic goalscorer at the age of 17 years and 169 days.

On May 25, 2019, she was announced for the roster for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
