Once Dan had got to grips with his preferred racket it does become quickly apparent that he had some ability and he began training in earnest, moving to Edgbaston Priory when he was aged around 10 years old. By the time he was of 13 years old, Dan has been moved to Loughborough to live with a host family while he was training at the LTA’s academy at Loughborough University. During his time at Loughborough, he said that “I was never the best at 14 and 15, in fact, I was probably the worst. I was smaller than the others and a bit of a late developer, but I always thought I was pretty good and in the end, I was the best “.
In the year 2007 in the month of April, Evans was invited to the Davis Cup tie against the Netherlands, as a hitting partner for Tim Henman and also Jamie Murray. In that year itself, in the month of June, Dan had his first win on the ATP tour in the Nottingham qualifier, losing in the second round. The next day, he partnered with Smethurst in the boy’s doubles event.
