After completing her MBBS at the KMCT Medical College, she became an Ayurvedic doctor. She is known to have been working at Sri Sai Multi Specialty Hospital. She did all the tasks wonderfully and gained a lot of attention on her way up the competition. Anjana Shajan came out as the First Runner up of the Miss Kerala 2019. Further more, she was titled as Miss. Photogenic and Miss. Beautiful Smile by the competition. She had also appeared on many Malayalam TV commercials. Anjana Shajan Car Accident

On November 1st of 2021, Anjana, along with the former pageant winner, Ansi Kabeer, and her two male friends, were on their way back from a hangout. Anjana was trying to get to her home to her mother who was alone. The accident happened near Kochi by the Holiday INN hotel at Ernakulam Bypass at about 1:30 AM, says the police. They met with the accident when the driver was trying to avoid crashing into a motorcycle but ended up smashing into a tree. The people behind them, a Ford Figo, called up the police immediately. Anjana Shajan and Ansi Kabeer died on the spot due to the impact while the other two is currently hospitalized due to serious critical injuries at Ernakulam Medical Centre. The social media was shocked to hear the sad demise of the two winners of the beauty pageant. Anjana Shajan died at the age of 26.
